Coach review

A New York leather goods brand whose euro stores publish clear delivery, 30-day return and two-year warranty terms, with bags from €150 (Coachtopia) to €595 (quilted Tabby 26); but each store is tied to its delivery country and outlet reference prices need care.

What Coach is and who it suits

Coach is a New York fashion and leather goods brand that began in 1941 as a small workshop making wallets and billfolds by hand.1 It belongs to Tapestry, Inc., which also owns Kate Spade New York, and sells handbags, small leather goods, shoes, ready-to-wear and accessories; in the fiscal year to 27 June 2026, Coach's net sales rose 23.5% to $6.91 billion.2

This review is for shoppers in Europe weighing a purchase in one of Coach's euro online stores: prices, delivery, returns, payment, Coach Outlet and fakes. Coach's stores block automated requests, so prices and terms come from Internet Archive copies of Coach's pages from June to October 2026, mostly from the German store. We did not place an order.

Company background: from a 1941 workshop to Tapestry

Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop in a loft on 34th Street in Manhattan, where six leather workers made wallets and billfolds by hand.1 Miles and Lillian Cahn, who arrived in 1946, added women's handbags, and the designer Bonnie Cashin shaped the range from 1962 to 1974.1 Sara Lee bought the company in 1985 and floated it in 2000; after buying Kate Spade in 2017, Coach, Inc. renamed itself Tapestry, Inc.1

Since selling Stuart Weitzman on 4 August 2025, Tapestry consists of Coach and Kate Spade.2 Coach brought in 86.4% of Tapestry's net sales in the fiscal year to 27 June 2026; its sales grew 23.5% to $6.91 billion, mainly through its own stores and websites in North America, Greater China and Europe.2 At the year-end there were 973 Coach stores, 637 of them outside North America.2

Stuart Vevers, previously creative director at Loewe, has led Coach's design since 2013.1,3 Products are made by independent manufacturers, mainly in Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines and India; eyewear, watches and fragrance are licensed to Luxottica, Movado and Interparfums.2

Product range: Tabby, Brooklyn, leather goods and Coachtopia

Handbags are the core of the range. The Tabby is a shoulder bag in natural grain leather with a short and a long detachable strap, sold in sizes 20 and 26 and in quilted and Signature canvas versions.13 The Brooklyn is a softer hobo-style shoulder bag in natural grain leather, offered in sizes 28, 34 and 39.14

The European stores also sell wallets and card cases, belts, jewellery, bag charms and key rings, sunglasses, fragrance, shoes and ready-to-wear for women and men, plus an Outlet section.9 Monogramming adds two working days to delivery.6

Coachtopia, a sub-brand launched on 20 April 2023, works with recycled, repurposed and renewable materials under three Made Circular principles, and each bag, wallet, shoe and clothing item has a digital passport.4 Its Loop line is made of at least 98% recycled PET plastic, and the German store says worn-out Loop items can be handed back to be made into new products.15

Prices: what Coach costs in euros

The German store shows prices in euros including VAT and says they apply only to purchases in Germany.8 These examples come from Internet Archive copies of German product pages; the date of each copy is shown:

Coachtopia Loop shoulder bag
€150 (15 July 2026)15
Coachtopia Loop quilted tote
€250, reduced to €175 at the time (15 July 2026)15
City Tote in Signature canvas, Outlet section
€199, shown next to a reference price of €375 (12 September 2026)16
Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 28, 34 and 39
€375, €450 and €475 (11 October 2026)14
Tabby Shoulder Bag 20 and 26
€425 and €495; quilted Tabby 26 €595 (19 August 2026)13

Full-price leather bags in these copies cost several hundred euros, while Coachtopia and outlet items cost less.15,16 Coach's US store says an outlet comparable value is not meant to represent a sale or a saving, so judge outlet prices on their own.3 Prices change often; check the store for your delivery country.

European online store: delivery, returns, payment and service

Coach runs separate euro online stores for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain; shoppers in other European countries, such as Portugal, Poland or Sweden, are sent to an international Coach site.9 In Germany the seller is Coach Stores Germany GmbH in Heidelberg, and orders for delivery outside Germany are cancelled automatically.8

German orders travel with DHL: standard delivery costs €5 for 3 to 5 working days, free from €200; express costs €9.95 for 2 working days, overnight €14.95 and a chosen delivery day €9.95 (shipping page, July 2026).6 Fragrance and leather care products cannot go by express.6

On top of the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, Coach allows free returns within 30 days of receipt, by post with the original receipt to a returns centre in the Netherlands.7 The standard delivery charge is refunded only if goods come back within 14 days, and returns are processed within 7 to 10 working days.7 Online orders cannot be returned in German stores, and personalised items, cut-to-size belts and earrings or liquids with a broken hygiene seal are excluded.7 The German terms of sale still give 14 days for sale purchases, so return reduced items within 14 days to be safe.8

Checkout accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, PayPal and Klarna, and an account is optional; the German terms also list SOFORT bank transfer.9,8 Orders cannot be changed or cancelled once placed, and German customer care answers through a contact form, WhatsApp and phone, Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm (contact page, June 2026).12

Authenticity, Coach Outlet and counterfeits

Coach says genuine products are sold in Coach boutiques and outlet stores, on its own websites and through authorised department and specialty stores, not at flea markets, by street vendors or at mall kiosks.11 It does not confirm on request whether an item is genuine, and it warns that fake shops often misspell Coach in their web address, copy the look of its website and can appear in search results.11 Tapestry says it pursues counterfeiters with investigators, law enforcement and customs officials.2

Coach Outlet is a separate sales channel. Tapestry says it is bringing some full-price products into outlet and enabling a single checkout for retail and outlet on the Coach website.2 In the euro stores, outlet goods sit in an Outlet section of the same store, such as the City Tote at €199.16 In the US, Coach Outlet moved from its own web address into coach.com, which Coach calls the only place online for authentic Coach Outlet styles.3 In shops, outlet purchases go back only to outlet stores, and items from the online outlet category cannot be returned to a full-price store.9

Coachtopia products carry a digital passport readable through an NFC chip or a QR code.15 Coach gives a two-year warranty on items bought online or in a Coach store; repairs take four to six weeks, and work outside the warranty is quoted first.10 Buy second-hand bags only where a failed authentication means a refund.

Sustainability: Coachtopia, (Re)Loved and Tapestry targets

Coach (Re)Loved, launched in April 2021, had given more than 20,000 used Coach products a second life by April 2023.4 Coachtopia goes further, with a commitment to take back every product at the end of its life for reuse, remaking or recycling.4 We found no current European terms for (Re)Loved.

At group level, Tapestry reported 100% renewable electricity in the stores, offices and fulfilment centres it operates and mapping of 96% of its raw materials in fiscal 2025, and has set 2030 goals on carbon reduction, supplier renewable energy and circularity.5 Its greenhouse gas targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.2 Coach dropped fur in 2019.1 These are company statements, not independent audits.

Our verdict on Coach

Coach's euro stores publish their delivery fees, a free 30-day return window and a two-year warranty, and the leather bags we priced cost €375 to €595 in 2026 copies of the German store.6,7,10,14,13

The catches are country-locked stores, a contradiction over returns of sale items, outlet reference prices that are not savings claims and weekday-only customer care.8,3,12 Use the store for your delivery country, keep the receipt and tags, and return reduced items within 14 days.
